Ode to the Jelly-Filled Donut

Dear heavenly Jelly-Filled Donut,
I have strayed from the path
of your sticky goodness.
Your gooey deliciousness
eludes me
as I move ever further
from you.
I long to be back
in your sugary rightness.
I strive to rediscover
your doughy perfection.
In jelly-Filled Donut's name,
Amen.

-Ian Disch

Thanks Very Happy I enjoy your poetry as well. You write about what is important to you and you write about it plainly. Not all poetry has to be a series of messages veiled behind metaphors and such. Keep up the good work, I look forward to reading more of your work. Now go enjoy a donut!
